Eragon

An epic story riddled with many elements needed to make a story and enjoyable story.
It is about a continent named Alagaesia a continent filled with evil as a corrupt king named King Galbatorix takes the reigns of power from the Rider. The Riders are people who can live infinitely and with their trusty friends the dragons they give peace and harmony to Alagaesia. This may sound like a corny story, I thought so too but the story kept on adding and subtracting details so it would at the end of the story be a bit confusing.
There are 3 main races, the elves, the humans, and the dragons. The elves were the superior beings to all, save the mighty dragons. There is a story of how the Riders originated but I won't be telling that.
So the real story is how a farm boy who finds a dragon egg and inadvertently revives the legacy of the Riders. The boy about to reach manhood named Eragon is a clever and trustworthy boy, who names his dragon Saphira. Together with their mentor Brom they travel from place to place to find out and kill the people who killed Eragon's uncle. Obviously that wouldn't make a good story so Eragon is sucked into a political conflict between the Varden, a rebel group and the Empire ruled by King Galbatorix. Brings memories of the 2nd trilogy of Star Wars doesn't it (Luke Skywalker = Eragon, Empire = Empire, Rebels = Varden, Obi-Wan = Brom, Planets = Villages,Towns,Cities, Darth Sidious = King Galbatorix. I could go on and on with this list) you might think that the author was thinking of Star Wars while writing this story.
A memorable story, 'Nuff said.
